Senior Buyer
DTx, a rapidly growing manufacturer of embedded systems and display technology for the medical device, industrial automation, aerospace, and military & defense markets, is seeking a Senior Buyer with understanding of Lean principles and ISO 9001 requirements to support its expansion plans. The successful candidate will be working in our corporate headquarters in Melbourne Florida and will report to the Vice President of Operations.
Summary of Responsibilities: Responsible for purchasing and negotiating materials, equipment, and supplies from vendors. Evaluates vendor’s quotes and services to determine most desirable suppliers. The Senior Buyer is an expert in standard processes, concepts, practices, and procedures. Establish key strategic plans within the Supply Chain organization to support DTx metrics.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Prepares all aspects of simple bids, requests for quotes, and proposals, including precise specifications, supporting spreadsheets, comparisons, recommendations, and justifications; issues purchase orders.
- Provides liaison services between vendors and departments for order status, procurement procedures, and problem resolution; researches sources of supply; advises departments on cost effective alternatives.
- Assists in bid openings for competitive solicitations such as requests for quotes, bids, and proposals.
- Reviews and evaluates contracts, issues award letters and purchase orders, negotiates change orders, and determines sole source validity.
- Maintains data information, files, reports, price lists on assigned commodities; negotiates prices and terms.

Qualifications: Candidates should have five or more years of progressive experience. Familiarity with OEM sales, medical markets and medical device manufacturing in particular are desired. Strong negotiation skills,. Proven experience with consignment inventory management including two-bin Kanbans. Experience in developing and executing cost reduction roadmaps. Teamwork experience with production, planning and sales organizations
Education &/or Experience: Associates degree (A.S.) and/or 10 years experience or Bachelors degree (B.S.) and/or 5 years experience and APICS certification.
Compensation: Candidates will be compensated based on DTx’s current salary and incentive plan for this position. DTx is an EEO employer
