Systems Engineer I

DTx is seeking a level I Systems Engineer to join the DTx Engineering Team at our Melbourne, Florida headquarters location.

Summary of Responsibilities: Supports the Engineering Project Teams in the development of primarily Intel x86 compatible computer hardware and software solutions. Build, test and generate clear documentation of Proof of Concept and Pre-Production computer platforms. Research technical solutions for customer applications as directed by Engineering Project Managers. Support product development activities and produce engineering documentation in compliance with DTx’s ISO quality system as directed by Engineering Project Managers. Generate new product configurations for customer proposals using established engineering processes for new product development. Coordinate with other departments to support engineering projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Support multiple Engineering Project Teams in the development of new medical computing platform hardware and software solutions
  • Build Intel x86 compatible computer systems from the component level to completed assembly using industry standard electronic assembly methods
  • Install and functional test computing platform operating systems including Windows, Linux and QNX
  • Troubleshoot computer hardware and operating system software configurations and resolve technical issues
  • Support Manufacturing for engineering related issues of production released platforms
  • Troubleshoot and resolve customer technical issues as directed by Engineering Project Managers
  • Develop clear engineering documentation in the form of work instructions and engineering notes to allow Proof of Concept and Pre-Production configurations to be accurately reproduced
  • Support product design and development activities as part of an Engineering Project Teams to prepare computing platforms for production release. Activities include:
    • Hardware, operating system and application software configuration
    • Functional and validation test execution
    • Production test configuration support
    • Packaging design and test
    • Produce engineering documentation in compliance with DTx’s ISO quality system
  • Work with engineering project plans to guide objectives, task scheduling and job deliverables.

Education &/or Experience: Associate of Science degree required. Microsoft Certified Professional or Linux certification preferred. B.S. in Science, Engineering, Engineering Technology or related field preferred. Candidate must have a minimum of 2 years experience in area of computer hardware, software and operating systems. DTx operates in an ISO 9000 and ISO 13485 environment and candidate must possess the ability to interpret complex technical documentation.

Compensation: Candidates will be compensated based on DTx’s current salary and incentive plan this position. DTx is an EEO employer.
