The Authority on High Reliability Embedded Systems

The DTx story begins in 1991 when DTx President, Art Schmitt and Vice President of Business Development, Gene Garofalo founded DTx in Melbourne, Florida. DTx, formerly an acronym for Digital Technology Exchange, functioned as an obsolete computer parts broker serving a wide range of Original Equipment Manufacturers. Within 6 months, Schmitt and Garofalo recognized a common and overwhelming need among their customers and identified a solution:

"OEMs were being forced to shut down production lines and re-certify products due to parts obsolescence in the rapidly changing computer technology industry."
...Art Schmitt, DTx President & CEO

At a request of DTx’s first and longest standing customer, DTx developed a comprehensive program for the design, production and management of a stable solution which resisted the constant changes in the commercial market. DTx’s knowledge of technology, experience with parts obsolescence and strategic partnerships with suppliers allowed customers to focus on their core competencies without jeopardizing costly regulatory certifications.

In 2004 DTx implemented an Automated Manufacturing Execution System (MES). The MES is comprised of four modules (Product Control Tracking System (PCTS), Functional Test Automation, Product Process Monitoring Board, a the DataOnDemand (DoD) SQL Database) and has two primary functions: tracking and testing. During production, the system documents all components used and operations completed during the build (including cycle time and tact time). The simulated functional test checks every component, circuit, section and parameter to ensure the product meets the specification.

The proprietary PCTS can accommodate the manufacturing of the highest level assembly for our customers. The EN ISO 13485:2003 processes used in manufacturing ensure the same quality and traceability demanded in the manufacturing of your product go into every product we build.
