Luis Alvarez Joins DTx, Inc. as New Vice President of Operations DTx, Inc., a leading provider of custom embedded computing solutions, announces Luis Alvarez has joined the company as the new Vice President of Operations. In his first year, Alvarez will be focused on improving product delivery speed. “We are concentrating on the Customer,” reports Alvarez. “Fast and accurate responses to our Customer’s requirements is our number one priority.” Mr. Alvarez has already begun implementing new programs with great success. In the factory, Alvarez headed the implementation of automated product testing and the transition to a Lean production environment, increasing throughput and productivity. In the warehouse, inventory turns have increased dramatically as a result of new efforts to further develop DTx’s supplier relationships and the implementation of consignment programs with key suppliers. Alvarez, the former Vice President of Operations at JDS Uniphase of Melbourne, Florida, has also held high level management positions in engineering and manufacturing with other large telecommunications companies. He has over 16 years experience in product development, supply chain management, quality control, and high volume and high mix manufacturing of commercial, military and customized products. Alvarez holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Florida Institute of Technology and a Master in Business Administration degree from Centenary College.
