5,000 Sq. Ft. Facility Expansion Project Complete DTx, Inc.
today announced the completion of its recent 5,000 square
foot facility expansion project. The project was initiated
in July 2004 and completed earlier this month resulting
in a newly remodeled 20,000 square foot headquarters
building in Melbourne, Florida.
DTx increased square footage by assuming ownership of adjoining office and warehouse space within the multi-company corporate center it inhabits. The addition facilitated a complete renovation of its existing facility which included knocking down and erecting walls, modifying electrical and network wiring and refurbishing existing structures. The changes have far-reaching benefits for DTx. “We opened up new office space to accommodate current and future staff and we were able to expand our production floor’s throughput capacity not only by adding square footage but by removing architectural obstructions that prevented efficient assembly of our products,” said Vice President of Operations, Luis Alvarez. “We’re now even better prepared to handle new customers and large and/or expedited orders.” The completion of this most recent expansion will facilitate
DTx’s transition to lean manufacturing and a cell
based production environment. The first phase of an
ongoing initiative to improve production and overall
efficiency at the facility. Phase one is expected to
be completed by November. Shortly thereafter, phase
two, process automation, will begin.
